Commitment to Education

Sawyer is proud to be an education advocate. The company sponsors the annual Tulsa Welding School Welding Competition with a scholarship along with donating resources to the Hereford High School Welding Competition. Sawyer has a relationship with the Oklahoma Technical College with a team member serving on the OTC Welding Advisory Board for two years.

The OSU Spears Business Engagement Group provides learning opportunities for college students to work on a professional level with sponsoring businesses. Sawyer was one of the first companies to work with this flagship program and is the only company to remain with the program for subsequent semesters.

In 2011, Sawyer started working with NSU to provide internship opportunities for its upper level students and has had two students successfully complete the program. The work form the latest intern can be seen in many of the company’s newly revised equipment operating manuals.
