Engineered for internal alignment of flanges and short pipe sections, the Series 400 provides a secure and stable hold that ensures true bore alignment before tack-welding or final weld out.
The design features two independently operated expanding clamps connected by a precision-machined centering shaft. The lower clamp is inserted into the first pipe and tightened via a hand knob, anchoring the tool firmly in place. The upper clamp is then expanded with the hand-bar to align and secure the mating pipe or fitting. This independent movement allows the clamp to compensate for small variations in internal diameters—making it ideal for field fit-ups, prefabrication, or situations where precision machining is not possible.
Built entirely from stainless steel, the Spider Clamp 400 resists corrosion and is compatible with a wide range of materials—from carbon and stainless steel to duplex and exotic alloys. Its smooth, burr-free contact surfaces protect internal finishes while providing the grip required for stable alignment. Because the clamp sits fully inside the joint, welders have complete 360-degree access around the outside of the pipe—eliminating the need for repositioning or partial removal during welding—helping welders achieve faster setup, cleaner joints, and consistent, high-quality weld results every time.
